🛍I’ve spent two years perfecting my beauty routine. Now, I mainly use clean makeup and body care from Black-owned businesses. This switch really helped clear my skin! My everyday makeup routine
🪞Makeup time! If it’s a relaxed day with errands, I choose a skin tint. I like Beautycounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer. It’s light and sheer. Shade 6 works in winter, and shade 7 in summer. It blends easily. Plus, it has SPF 20, black current seed oil, and vitamin C. These ingredients help brighten skin. To reduce shine, I dust Laura Mercier powder on top.
For events or filming, I need long-lasting makeup. So, I use Beautycounter Skin Twin Foundation. It contains hyaluronic acid. Next, I fill in my brows with Sephora Brow Pencil in Granite. For under-eye concealer, I use Laura Mercier (4N) or Rose Inc. I also use Laura Mercier to clean up my brows. I set the concealer with Laura Mercier powder for a natural look. Or, I use Huda Beauty powder for a brighter look.
After eyes (more on that later!), I contour and add blush. I love LYS Cream Bronzer. It’s a Black-owned, clean brand. I contour my nose with Fenty Beauty Match Stix in Espresso. Finally, I add Makeup Forever blush in Limitless Berry. I set everything with Charlotte Tilbury setting spray.
Luscious lips
🌞I use Chapstick Moisturizer with SPF 15 daily. It’s the perfect base for lip gloss or lipstick. It even works on no-makeup days. I love that it’s moisturizing and affordable. Plus, it has SPF, which is great for Miami bike rides. Lips need SPF too! For gloss, I like Dior Lipglow Oil in Rosewood. Rhode Lip Treatment in Salted Caramel is another favorite. Both are thick and last. I love liquid matte lipsticks. Fenty Icon Velvet Matte Lipsticks are my go-to. I like HBIC, MVP, and Bread Winn’R. They last all day and don’t bleed. I don’t even need lip liner.
Shower & Body care favorites
🧴I prioritize clean body care products. My favorite body wash is Youth to the People Superfood + Niacinamide Body Cleanser. Its cedarwood and black pepper scent is so refreshing. I also enjoy Byredo Bal D’Afrique and L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. They leave a subtle, lasting fragrance. For shaving on “everything shower” days, I use Flamingo Foaming Shave Gel. It provides a moisturizing, close shave. I love many body creams and lotions for different reasons. L’Occitane Ultra Rich Body Cream is very hydrating. Its clean, milky scent is perfect after a hot shower. Koba Whipped Body Cream is another favorite. This Black-owned brand leaves skin soft and hydrated.
Currently, I love Youth to the People Hydrate + Glow Dream Body Butter. It’s clean and gives a glowing look. For lotion, I always use Kiehls Creme De Corps. It makes my legs shine and eliminates ashiness. It’s the best lotion, even though it’s unscented.
